Reiser does extra shopping and chores to help her out, despite Oui Oui's dislike of him. Reiser flashes to 11pm and him donning a clean up suit. Jayne is still deeply disappointed but Reiser swears that if they want a cleaner at S.T.A.R. he'll be the best they've ever had. After over two hours of cleaning what appears to be a clean room, the steam cleaner takes its toll on Reiser. Jayne leaves him for a comfort break and Reiser, unable to see, unzips his suit... and then freaks out, worried he's been contaminated. He makes his way home. He meets Clarice, who shows him her new place after missing out on being a neighbor. The new place is the partially finished building site for Lex Plaza. Clarice leads Reiser into a now abandoned show apartment. Reiser can't believe his luck as he lies on Clarice's bed. She strips off and climbs into the shower, she asks about his day and then invites him in to join her. Aroused, something begins to happen to him and he starts burning up. In Dak Park Elementary School, Metropolis a young class are in the gym about to play basketball. The humiliating team picking takes place leaving Miles, the stereotypical class nerd, as last choice. The teams are just getting limbered up as Coach Polumbo notices that Miles is sporting an expensive smartwatch and it is then that Miles realizes that his Coach isn't really human. The smartwatch detected alien DNA, that of a Platharian and so Miles pulls out a ray gun and shoots his Coach. The laser causes his teacher to explode into a wave of green goop and Miles struts out in front of his now quivering classmates. Elsewhere, Reiser crawls up from the sewer into the night of Downtown Metropolis still in Red Doomsday mode after his arousal with Clarice in the shower led to him melting out of the showhome deep beneath the city. His memory, in flashbacks, is still fragmented and while he struggles to remember he doesn't realize he's crawled into the path of a bus and it crushes against him like paper before he hurls it away down the street. As the out of service bus catches fire Doomed/Reiser realizes he's hurt the driver and rushes in to help her. Reiser manages to pull her to safety as the bus explodes, but upon waking she sees his bizarre appearance and cannot hear his human voice. Instead she mistakes his concern for a monstrous growl and screams for help. The police see the bus wreckage and the screaming driver and take aim. Reiser, under threat, emits a centric blast and uses the bright light to escape. While the police are puzzled and arranging clean up, Reiser worries he's made some major mistakes, especially with prospective lover Clarice. Unbeknownst to him, Clarice has watched the entire event from the Showhome. Reiser/Doomed leaps his way into the local water processing plant and as the sun begins to rise, Reiser begins to revert to his human form. The next morning Reiser returns to his apartment seeking help from his best friend Roman. Roman is being sent secretive orders over his laptop before Reiser crumples at the doorway. Roman slams the laptop shut and lays his friend down on the sofa watching over him with worry. Meanwhile over in Lex Plaza the police have tracked Doomed/Reiser backwards to beneath the Plaza, mistaking the Centric blast as an explosive device. The police notice a scuttling noise in the shadows, only to discover Miles sneaking around and he lies that he lost a baseball down the drain. Miles was secretly tracking Reiser, the police presence only confirms he is on the right track.

After dropping off his aunt's dog to her, Reiser hides in an abandoned amusement park. Wonder Girl informs Dr. Crabman at STAR Labs that she'll hunt Doomed down. Misjudging Doomed's grunts, growls and roars as aggressive, Cassie is unrelenting in her attack. Reiser uses her blind rage to unleash an energy burst from his hands which knocks her into a nearby ferris wheel. Cassie is shocked when, instead of attacking, Doomed races forward and catches the wheel, and in turn, when safely at a distance, Cassie uses her lasso to yank Reiser away too. Somehow Doomed is a naked Reiser again and the breather gives them time to talk. Reiser explains his origins. Cassie hands him her Teen Titan email and tells him that she will pretend she couldn't find him. Like Miles, she too tells him if he stays a good guy she'll leave him be - or return to kill him. She tells Reiser that if he ever needs her help and support to email and she will be there. Reiser watches her leave and realizes Cassie has finally given him purpose. Meanwhile back at S.T.A.R. Jayne is digging into the research files of the lab they were cleaning the night of the accident. She is horrified to discover that Reiser has been infected with a mutated version of the Doomsday spore virus. At that moment, Superman in his tee and jeans appears from the shadows and asks Jayne to explain herself.

Unlike past hosts, Clark included, Reiser hasn't suffered genetic disruption, the spores seem to have completely bonded without issue, Reiser mistakes Clark's words to mean his nightmare is over. Roman meanwhile collapses during his run and Alpha Centurion tries to take over his body. Clark explains how he was able to burn out the spores by burning them out in the sun but as a human there isn't an equivalent for Reiser. Clark comments that Reiser seems to have strong resolve to be able to suppress the monster as he does. Superman suggests going back to S.T.A.R for more tests and this triggers Doomed to appear and punch Superman into a wall. Elsewhere, Roman tries to reason and then spurn Centurion. The Roman spirit reveals he has been inhabiting bodies for eons appearing when a glorious battle presents itself and that the rise of monsters in this word means he will be around more to stop them. Reiser leaping across the city passes over the docks and Superman leaps in himself and forces him to the ground.
