This is what I called home the past few months.

So, are you back home now?

Regarding illegal copies of movies, I've seen my fair share during global ramblings. Illegal CDs are big business, too. You'd be surprised by how much excellent music you can get in K-K-K-Kathmandu(!).
Easy, miss. I've got you.

Nice. Glad to know you're safe. I'm not American, but I'm certain there are lots of people around you who appreciate what you did. Good on ya.

Now, I guess you have a load of comic book reading to catch up now, eh?

Anyone else think Herbert Chavez was really trying to look like Leonard from Big Bang Theory?

Yeah I think Chavez could be a Leonard impersonator if he needed work. Maybe they could do a Big Bang bizzario world like they did on Sienfield.

Just get Spanish speaking look a likes for the whole cast.

So a monkey in a shearling coat was spotted at Ikea,

http://www.youtub...U6UenqHpzY

What's the fuss?,it's either Ian Brown or Liam Gallagher out doing a bit of Christmas shopping.

I just hope the people who caught the little hairy dude didn't spank the monkey.

IKEA is a weird place, man.

Seriously, though, owning primates should be banned.

Tell me about it, I almost forgot it was the end of the world. If you look at the 21 December 2012 website they have changed it to say that we have entered a new cycle for a new era.

Like most Doomsdayers they have tried to put a spin on it to save face.

There was a lady in the 1950's or 60's that said she was being contacted telepathically by aliens. Claiming that the world was going to end some time in the 50's-60's. She eventually built a cult following. She had followers that left their families, jobs and homes to be with her when the mother ship was going to come down and pick the "believers" up and save them.

Well when nothing happened and they were all sitting there shocked the lady said she was just contacted by the aliens and they saved Earth because of the dedication of her group.

We did a study on this in college for persuasion. I don't remember the names, but it's a book called When Prophecy Fails. I'm sure someone here has heard of it or knows what I'm talking about, or I'm confused.

Point being, there will always be crazies that think the world will end. And when it doesn't happen they always have some lame excuse to try and save face or explain that they were right in some way shape or form.

Interesting story. This guy has collected thousands of props and costumes from TV shows from the 50s-70s and is looking to donate them.

http://news.yahoo...54376.html

He says he doesn't want to sell anything though. Too bad, I'm sure someone here would pay a pretty penny for this piece.

Really neat. This sort of thing is kind of up my alley a bit (not so much the collecting part as the archiving/museum collections part.) I'm certain the Superman Museum would take the Superman specific pieces but if he's wanting to donate the whole kit and caboodle the museum most obvious to me would be the Smithsonian museum of American History. I'm sure there's other possibilities but those are the most obvious in my mind.

At least I remembered my hat. Cool

That is so cool.

Glad you made it back home safe and thank you for your service and duty.

As for MOS, I'm not looking for any Donner film nods or influences. I think that would be rather pointless actually. New century, new film.

Although being this is Snyder, I'm hoping we don't get a scene of Superman screaming, "THIS...IS....METROPOLIS!" and kicking Luthor over Hobb's Bay.

So, who else thinks it's cooler than Isaac Hayes on Christmas Eve in Winnipeg that del Toro nudging WB to green light his Dark Universe movie?

Yeah, I am. I want it. I want it more than Justice League.

Hell yeh! awesome news.

Video Description: IGN sat down with del Toro and asked him about the rumored team-up that was being called “Heaven Sent”. Del Toro said quote, “Yeah, I’m doing it…I’m writing the outline and are in talks with…a very good writer. I think people are going to be happy with who we have chosen.”

He wouldn’t reveal who the writer is, but did say he has been courting him for quite some time and is confident he is the perfect person to pen the script. As for what the movie will be called, del Toro said the working title is “Dark Universe” and will for sure include Swamp Thing, Constantine, Dead Man, Spectre and Zatanna Zatara. He wouldn’t give away any more than that insisting if he did it would hint at the plot of the movie, suggesting they will be looking to the comics as source material for the storyline.

So when can we expect to see Dark Universe on the big screen? Though Del Toro insists that they are in the process of developing the story and writing the script, they have not received an official greenlight from the studio, but he says Warner Bros is looking to build a cohesive universe with their DC characters

Comics as source, good, and building a cohesive DC universe, very good.

Of the Big Two, DC's characters are infinitely more interesting and less pretentious. Marvel can eat it.

What would people think if the Caption Contest was done every two weeks?,at the moment it doesn't even seem to be every month, and as the feature already gets a lot of comments and reads,I think it would go down well with members if it was every two weeks .

And have the staff,moderators/contributors (the ones who want to take part that is)and Steve to each pick their own top three choices, then just see who gets the most votes for the winning caption, and the remainder of people who were chosen in the top three lists then get runner up spots,it would take the pressure off just one person(Jeffrey Taylor, who is very busy) running and judging it.

What do you guys think?

Caption Contest every two weeks with multiple Homepage staff judges.

Caption Contest left as it is.
