Season 2 - Episode 2: "Earthlings"

Rating - 4 (out of 5): I'm conflicted. I like the new story line. Nay, love, one might say. But what the crap happened to the team and why did they move so far forward in time? Is this some alternate timeline? Will they fix what the Justice League did back in time and then go back to the old team? I have no clue. We don't have much info on what happened to the entire team. No Wally (that makes me sad) is my biggest pet peeve.

But I love the current story lines they are exploring. Rann and the Kroloteans. It's a whole new world, a dazzling place I never kne... Oh uh sorry bout that. Darn you Disney!

Back on track, Isaac. Okay, so Superboy is angsty. Miss Martian is angsty. I can't do all this angst. Beast Boy has become my new favorite character. He is the coolest. Almost seems like the comic stand in for Kid Flash.

It's hard for me to rate this a five because we have no idea what has happened to that team we all grew to know and love. But do we need to know right this second in order for the current episodes to be awesome? I don't think so. We live in a world of 24/7 convenience stores and on demand videos and I think too many people have become used to the idea of having whatever information they want or need as fast as their internet connection is. Let's just hope there aren't too many left running at 38.8k or 56.6k (if you get that joke, then you rock). I argue that me not knowing everything is great. Makes anticipation that much more awesome. So be patient, I'm sure this will unravel itself.

But ultimately jumping ahead like this with no clue where anyone has gone (having grown very attached to them) frustrates me a little. Maybe even just a little line explaining very briefly why the team split up or something. I still love these episodes. A lot. Great stuff.
