Season 2 - Episode 18: "Intervention"

5Rating - 5 (out of 5): The only thing that saddened me about this episode was when they brought out the underused heroes. Wonder Girl. Beast Boy. Rocket. Zatanna. I want more of this, people!

But it was so nifty to see them all together fighting against Green and Blue Beetle. Having those two against the team made things very difficult to watch because they were aware of their existence but could not control their own actions.

An unnecessary, but not bad, segment of the episode was M'Gann and Lagoon Boy having the talk. THE TALK. He was a rebound boyfriend. Glad we threw that in there, DC. Especially as we approach the endgame of this season.

My favorite scene of this episode was when Zatanna used the magic of the ancients to remove the influence of the Reach on Blue Beetle. Green Beetle tries blasting at Blue Beetle but Impulse drags Green Beetle into his own line of fire which knocks him into the beam created by Zatanna.

It was especially cool to see Queen Bee at the end confide in her minions that the Light have a different goal than the Reach do. Stuff like this just makes your mind wander. Clearly the Light have something in mind to either eliminate the Reach or come to an accord with them so they benefit. And simultaneously destroy or enslave the Justice League. When you have Ra's Al Ghul and Lex Luthor and Vandal Savage leading a group like this, they will ultimately find a way to benefit themselves.

As we approach the end of this season we will finally see where all these plots are headed. We obviously see the Reach's stronghold being weakened by a more distrusting public. We see the Light in the background running their own machinations to control events in their favor.

Impulse probably has a better idea of what is going to happen than anyone else.

We shall see. We shall see.
