Lobo is on laboratory table as Doctor Veritas' team tries to study him. Meanwhile; Kara Zor-El is losing control of her powers. She and Veritas discuss this and why the Block is near the center of the Earth. Lobo awakens and kills the scientists who try to dissect him. His search for Veritas and Kara leads him to gather information on Supergirl with his Data Dagger. Now that the Last Czarnian has knowledge of the Maid of Might he may figure out a means of defeating her and getting Doctor Veritas.

Wanting information from Doctor Veritas, Lobo uses hypersonics to disable Supergirl in order to make his objective easier. His pursuit of her leads Veritas to activate the Fusion Orb and enter a secret chamber containing the demonic Blaze, a being whom Veritas fears less than Lobo. Yet, Blaze disappears just before Lobo arrives. The Fusion Orb didn't work on Lobo. Veritas knew this, but the device's energy comes from Earth's yellow sun allowing an angry Supergirl to be ready for round two with the Czarnian assassin.

5Story - 5: Tony Bedard's run so far has been a fast paced thrill ride, and, while there has been slightly more angst from Kara than in the last issue, we're given some interesting plot threads to ponder. For example, Doctor Veritas' connections to Blaze and the cause of Kara's loss of control of her powers make me want to continue reading this story arc. Bedard, Cinar and McCarthy are going to be the creative team to watch out for in the months to come if this title continues to go on the track it's currently on.

5Art - 5: All of the art is as astounding as that of the previous issue.Yildiray Cinar's Blaze particularly stands out in the pages of visuals that grab the reader from beginning to end. If the next chapter is by Cinar, then we're sure to have another winner.

5Cover Art - 5: Like the book's interior, this cover is an eye popper. I couldn't wait to read what's inside after seeing it.
