Terry Sloan has escaped from Batman. He is on a quest for the Source Vault to terraform New Earth 2 in order to make it like the original. He is also search for a Metahuman traitor who caused the refugee spaceships to crash land on the planet. Batman needs assistance looking for Sloan. Unfortunately, one of its two suns is red leaving Power Girl and Val-Zod, the new Superman, powerless. Huntress, the Flash and Jimmy Olsen help the new Dark Knight. Meanwhile, Wesley Dodds and his Sandmen aid Sloan in his mission. Yet, they may not realize the Overwatcher's true intentions.

Having found the Source Vault on the TSS Endurance, Terry Sloan is about to press the button to activate the device when Batman confronts him.

3Story - 3: The overall story itself isn't bad. However, it does suffer from the same problems as the previous issue. It's not very reader friendly, and it jumps all over the place. Changes in scene and time period don't bother me that much. Yet, it becomes a jarring disruption in this series. Scenes with Batman have a different flow from the crash scenes. This makes the book feel like two different writers are working on the project, and they can't agree on what to do with it. Earth 2: Society has potential to be a great series, and I intend to stick with it. However, if it continues to go in its present direction, I get the feeling it won't last longer than DC's next crossover event.

5Art - 5: The art is this comic book's saving grace. Why isn't Jorge Jimenez doing more? This art is astounding.

5Cover Art - 5: The ominously creepy look of the Sandmen was enough to make me buy the book. We have another amazing cover.

2Variant Cover Art - 2: Something looks wrong with this cover. It could be the faces. It could be the costumes. I'm not exactly sure. It's not the best work Kubert has done, and I tend to expect more from him.
