  • Justice League Unlimited #39 (January)
    Sholly Fisch, Gordan Purcell, Al Nickerson
    Batman and Elongated Man meet Bobo the Chimp Detective who tells them Gorilla City has vanished and that Grodd is responsible. Bobo is infact Grodd in disguise, but Batman and Elongated Man had already worked it all out. Grodd had made the city invisible to humans and apes, but not birds, and while in their minds he looked like Bobo, his footprints were of a gorilla not a chimpanzee. With J'onn as their invisible back-up plan, the heroes thwart Grodd and free Gorilla City.

    Ben McCool, Dario Brizuela, John J. Hill
    Zatanna recalls that as a young girl her father, Zatara chided her for using her magic as a toy. As a grown woman, she's called in by the Justice League when Shadow Thief appears to be using magic to steal people's shadows. In fact he's teamed with the Warlock of Ys who has trapped Zatara and plans on merging his abilities with Zatanna's to rule the universe. Zatanna unlocks her full potential and defeats the Warlock, before a teary farewell with her father, who vanishes to the mysterious world he now occupies.

    Grace Randolph, Dario Brizuela, Dario Brizuela
    Upset that Batman is off in space and has apparently forgotten the anniversary of the first time they met, Joker and Harly steal aboard the JL Watchtower and cause havoc. Zatanna, Hawkgirl, Elongated Man, and Crimson Avenger are unable to capture them, having underestimate the villains. But they soon capture Joker and Harly, leaving them as a present for Batman upon his return.

    Dan Raspler, Christopher Jones, Mark Propst
    Una, Queen from the Royal Flush Gang, has done her time in prison and is ready to go straight. Wonder Woman is prepared to help her, but Green Lantern is less than helpful. Her old gang want her back, and when things seem too hard Una returns to the gang... but her heart is elsewhere, and she ends up helping Suicide Slum even though it means returning to prison.

    Keith Giffen, Christopher Jones, Dan Davis
    In a story back before they'd started their careers, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are trying to stop villains known as the Demolition Team as a way of getting into the JLA... but they think being JLA members will get them fame and fortune. Their methods leave a lot to be desired, and the JLA set them straight about why they do what they do.

  • Justice League Unlimited #44 (June)
    Ken Pontac, John Delaney, Ty Templeton
    Mirror Master needs to raise a lot of money to pay for his son's surgery to allow him to walk... but Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl and the Flash keep thwarting his robberies as he attempts to steal the money he needs for his son. When they finally capture him, Mirror Master reveals his son's problem. And although he goes to jail, Bruce Wayne finances his son's operation, and Mirror Master's son stands in front of his class telling them why his father's a hero.

    Alexander Gradet, Scott Cohn, Scott Cohn
    Grodd sets up a series of crimes and accidents which get the Justice League's attention. Superman, Flash, Green Lantern and Mary Marvel handle each situation, but they're playing into Grodd's plan, who positions them under a beam of energy which takes away their powers. However, the heroes, even powerless don't shirk their duties, saving people in trouble. J'onn J'onzz discovers the beam's location and Booster Gold goes along and destroys the contraption, giving the heroes back their powers, enabling them to save the day and capture Grodd.

    Matt Wayne, Carlo Barberi, Bob Petrecca
    Oa, home of the Guardians of the Universe, has been attacked. John Stewart prepares a group of new Green Lantern recruits to go to the anti-matter universe to rescue G'Newmann from the Qwardians, one of the recruit's uncle. G'Nort, the nephew of G'Newmann, is a little naive but has his heart in the right place, and ends up saving the day when it's discovered that Sinestro has teamed up with the Qwardians.
