  • Superman/Batman #4 (January)
    Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines
    Superman snatches Power Girl while Batman takes Katana, and both head for Tokyo where they're supposed to meet a highly intelligent boy. Captain Marvel and Hawkman have other ideas though, and the two attack and capture the World's Finest team.

  • Superman/Batman #5 (February)
    Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines
    Superboy, Supergirl, Natasha (Steel), and Krypto fight alongside Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Huntress to break into the White House to free their mentors... but they're not there. Disguised as Hawkman and Captain Marvel, Batman and Superman arrive and rescue the youngsters... and confront Luthor, who wears a purple and green battle suit.

  • Superman/Batman #6 (March)
    Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines
    Finally meeting the young boy, the new Toyman, Superman and Batman find he's built an unusuall spacecraft designed to destroy the kryptonite meteor. Captain Atom arrives and persuades them to let him man the spacecraft. Luthor, in his new battlesuit, confronts Superman in the sky over Metropolis. Defeated, Batman tells Luthor his presidency is over, LexCorp is broke, Luthor is finished. Luthor escapes to plot his revenge.

  • Superman/Batman #7 (April)
    Jeph Loeb, Pat Lee, Dreamwave
    Superman and Batman send Superboy and Robin to Tokyo to try and enlist the help of Hiro Okumura, the young boy who helped them destroy the Kryptonite meteorite. The two young heroes find themselves in giant robots fighting John Corben, now released from his Metallo body. They convince Hiro to work for Batman.

  • Superman/Batman #8 (May)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    As Batman helps clear up all the Kryptonite from the recent meteor, he discovers a Kryptonian spacecraft at the bottom of the ocean. A naked woman boards his Batboat and soon ends up on land where she is confused and scared... capturing her using Kryptonite, Batman takes her back to the Batcave, where Superman discovers the young woman is his cousin Kara Zor-El!

  • Superman/Batman #9 (June)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    Superman and Batman argue over Kara, and whether or not she's a danger. Superman decides she's ready to visit the outside world, and as Clark, takes her to Metropolis. While there, they are attacked by various entities... including Wonder Woman, who claims she's taking Kara away for her own good.

  • Superman/Batman #10 (July)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    Superman is angry at Batman and Wonder Woman for planning together to take Kara to Paradise Island. Kara trains well with the Amazons and befriends Harbinger. A horde of replicated Doomsdays boomtube in from Apokolips. While Superman and the others do battle with them, Kara is kidnapped by Darkseid's minions and Harbinger killed.

  • Superman/Batman #11 (August)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    Big Barda accompanies Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman to Apokolips. They each go separate ways, Barda and Wonder Woman come up against the Female Furies, Batman is confronted by Demon Dogs, while Superman finds Kara with Darkseid... but she doesn't want to leave.

  • Superman/Batman #12 (September)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    Superman pulls out some Kryptonite from his lead-lined belt buckle and defeats Kara. Batman, having activated Apokolip's entire armory of hellspores, blackmails Darkseid into releasing any claim over Kara. Back on Earth, Superman takes the new Supergirl to Smallville to meet the Kents, but instead they're confronted by Darkseid, who sets his Omega beams on Superman, only to have Supergirl put her body in the line of fire.

  • Superman/Batman #13 (October)
    Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner, Michael Turner
    Darkseid is beaten by Superman, who traps him within the Source Wall. Superman returns to Smallville to find the JLA repairing the damage to the Kent farm. Kara is safe and well, having been transported out by Wonder Woman before Darkseid's Omega Beams hit her. Kal-El allows her to make her own mind up about her future... She decides to take on the mantle of "Supergirl".
