March 2002

Barry Freiman (barryfreiman@home.com) asks:
I loved Geoff Johns' work on Superman and the Royal Flush Gang story. Geoff had Clark Kent actually reporting, doing the things a reporter does. And Superman was pretty super. Geoff's style echoes the first Chris Reeve movie in my mind, which is appropriate given his previous job. Any chance of seeing Geoff take on Superman again?

Eddie: Geoff will be helping us out for a bit (hopefully, if it works out this can become a longer stint). he does like the reporter aspect of Superman's life, and would like to focus more on it. He starts his run with SUPERMAN#184.

Brian Holbrook (BAHolbrookX@aol.com) asks:
Is there ever a possibility of Superman and Lois Lane getting a divorce? It seems that they seem to grow apart more and more every issue I read. Is there any possibility that this will ever happen?

Eddie: Anything is possible, but this is not something we're planning. A marriage has its good and bad times. Surviving the latter is what makes a real good one work. Besides you didn't think it was gonna be easy for our Super-couple, did you?

Phil (philbymangles@hotmail.com) asks:
Is the electric Superman story dead and buried? Because I know a lot of people like myself who were very disappointed with the so called resolution.

Eddie: At present yes, although this unnatural extension of Superman' powers has allowed us some cool bits that we'd like to continue to explore.

Michael Adkins (titanstower@netzero.net) asks:
How about a team-up between Superman and Batgirl? I mean, the team-up with Nightwing went well, and it would be interesting to see how Superman would interact with this deadly martial artist. Might even lead to conflict in the pages of JLA if handled right...

Eddie: It does sound cool, and may be the kinda thing we do next year.

John Pipia (Jpx98@aol.com) asks:
I'm no Luthor fan, but why the sudden change? I mean when he thinks he's Alexander Luthor and then realizes that he's really Lex Luthor President of United State and when Superman reminds of this, he's like Superman destoryed his whole world and no matter what he can't get it back. Now with Luthor mad for power and doing anything to get, why would he be upset at having to still be President, since he did everything in his power to get the highest office in the land? And with it he is one of the most powerful men in the world and even Superman can't touch him now. I just don't see why Luthor would want to give that all up.

Eddie: have you ever had a high pressure job, John, where everyone wants a piece of you. Not a fun thing because as someone said with great power comes great responsibility. Sometimes I'd like to forget I'm the Superman editor and go back to being the guy that did Guy Gardner. It was quiet and I didn't have to worry about weekly adventures with him.

Edward Hatton (edward_hatton@hotmail.com) asks:
Greatly enjoyed ADVENTURES #600. Looks like you've got a few anniversaries coming in the next couple of years on SUPERMAN and ACTION: I look forward to them. Basically I want to ask if 'super-hearing' is going to be redesignated as something pre-cognitive or telepathic, which might be interesting to develop, since Superman was able to 'hear' Metropolis from Rome in this issue, clearly impossible considering the speed of sound?

Eddie: No, super-hearing is just that. Look over the issue. There's something about a JLA warning device that we stuck in because of that very concern.

Dave R. (meesterchips2@hotmail.com) asks:
What is happening to Pa Kent? We have seen him act very strange and opening the general store was a surprise. Is there more to his behavior than meets the eye?

Eddie: We'll see. Although based on who plays him on Smallville, we may just give him a taste for racing around town in a souped up red car.

Alejandro Montenegro Granados (alejandromg2@stramedia.com) asks:
I've notice that you published Trade Paperback editions of many story lines from the past 15 years, but not a book with the best of the John Byrne age (except the "Man of Steel" mini-series). Will you be publishing one any time soon?

Eddie: Strangely, I asked the same question, and was told that none are on scheduled at this time. But do expect more TPBs from the current run. Next up is the "Critical Condition" storyline. I love the new design on these. What do you all think?

Eddie: And that's that. Thanks all for your questions and continued interest in the Last Son of Krypton.
