July 1, 2002: Australian Premiere of “Smallville”
A reminder to all fellow Australians that the movie-length premiere of "Smallville" airs Tuesday July 2nd at 7.30pm on Channel 9.First up at 7.30pm is the Pilot Episode which Channel 9's TV guide describes in the following way:
- Clark Kent takes on a whole new dimension in this precursor to the Superman legend. You know how the journey ends: now watch the journey begin. Clark Kent arrived on Earth after a meteor shower. Since that day, strange things have been happening in Smallville, Kansas. Now, Clark is a teenager, and his growing pains are amplified by the burden of his emerging superpowers.
- Clark discovers that a fellow high school student has been attacked by Kryptonite-affected bugs, taking on the "eat,molt,mate,die" life cycle of an insect - with Lana as his prey. Clark must rush to save her without revealing his superpowers.
