"Countdown to Injustice: Chapter 1 - Into The Multiverse"

In a parallel universe Superman hears a voice. The world is burning and there is evidence of a great battle which has scarred the region. Superman is then confronted by Ultraman who asks him if he has any last words, Superman whispers Lois, to which Ultraman responds it's always the same. He then burns Superman to death. Bounce back to our world, Jon is enjoying his new found anonymity while walking with his boyfriend, Jay. Jay is bundled up to hide himself, while they walk a new threat prompts Jon to fly away. Oracle tells him that satellites are plummeting to the earth and he takes off to protect Europe, Africa, and Asia. The sheer amount of debris is overwhelming him when someone else begins to help. This stranger is revealed to be Val-Zod from Earth-2. He tells Jon that he needs his help to defeat a threat to Kal. The two reconvene to a private location with Lois and Red Tornado. Lois freaks out when she hears the threat is Ultraman, but Red Tornado calms her by revealing she is the Lois from Earth-2 and how imperative it is for Clark to survive. The big push is for Jon to help Val, without letting Clark know.

"Countdown to Injustice: Chapter 2 - Out of the Volcano"

The story opens with kid Jon and Ultraman in the volcano, then it cuts to Lois and Jay waiting in the Fortress of Solitude. Lois gives Jay some terrible advice about what to do when Jon is away, seriously, just awful advice. Then Red Tornado Lois, Val, and Jon find where Ultraman will strike next and head out. Before they leave Lois embraces Jon and gives him something, and Jay and Jon kiss. The three heroes arrive on a different Earth. Red Tornado Lois is immediately broken by Ultraman, and she and Val are sent to the Phantom Zone. Ultraman notices Jon and is surprised to see "his" Jon there. They fight, with Ultraman gaining the upper hand until Jon turns blue and knocks him out. Turning blue expended too much of Jon's energy and he collapses, giving Ultraman the upper hand again. He starts to choke Jon and threatens Jon's mother. Injustice Superman swoops behind Ultraman and breaks his neck. Jon is incredulous that he killed Ultraman, and Injustice Superman is floored that Jon has Lois' eyes.

"Countdown to Injustice: Chapter 3 - The Regime's Paradise"

Jon Kent wakes up in a research bed being analyzed by Lex Luthor. He immediately freaks out at the prospect of being at the mercy of his father's arch nemesis. Luthor assures him that he is an ally of the Superman of this world. Superman enters the room in the middle of Luthor's attempt to warn Jon about him. The Flash enters, warning Superman and Wonder Woman about two attacks occurring on two separate bases. Superman tells Jon to wait at the Hall of Justice while he and Wonder Woman deal with the attacks. But while Jon is at the Hall he learns Damian is defending one of the sites, so he rushes off to help him. Damian is about to fight Batman when Jon shows up. Jon is concerned about Damian's willingness to kill his own father and attempts to intervene. This allows Batman to escape from the fight, enraging Damian. Superman arrives and takes Jon for a flight and gives him the chance to see the world they have created. Jon takes the chance to fly around the world by himself, he discovers the world is cleaner and quieter. The environment is cleaner and the world healthier. He also discovers that the people are afraid of Superman and what he will do if they step out of line.

"Countdown to Injustice: Chapter 4 - Heightened Doubt"

Regime Superman leads the big hitters to a disturbance he found close to Jupiter. While they are gone Jon follows Lex who to Batman's resistance. Lex reveals he is going to use the Ultraman corpse to stop Regime Superman. Jon gets into a fight with the resistance and uses his new blue form to defeat them. He tells them that he wants to help them because of Batgirl and Alfred, but he will need to investigate more. He then tracks down Damian, which does not go well. Feeling lost, and directionless, Jon finds Jay to talk. Speaking with Jay seems to put Jon at ease about what he needs to do. Unbeknownst to Jon, Damian tracked him to Jay's apartment and begins to interrogate him about his conversation with Jon. And that's where the issue ends.

"Blood and Steel: The Injustice Saga"

Jon meets with Batman and his team. Batman tells Jon how Superman fell from grace. Jon tells them this tragedy can not excuse his behaviors, the insurgents tell him he sounds like Lois. Harley tries to apologize for murdering him and his mother, but Jon refuses to forgive her. The scene then shifts to Damian and Clark, Damian has brought Jay to Clark to interrogate. Clark orders for his release, and then Damian tells him Jon is being tracked and is meeting with Batman. They decide that once Jon has left, they will attack Batman's insurgents. Back in the secret hideout, Jon agrees to join the team, but must talk with someone first. After he leaves Superman and the Justice League attack Batman and apprehend his team. We then find out that Jon went to the Fortress of Solitude to listen to a recording from his mother. While there he discovers Martha and Johnathan are kept in the Fortress for their protection. We close with a public announcement from Superman showcasing the captured insurgents and their plan to imprison some, and execute Batman and Harley.

Countdown to Injustice: Chapter 6 - "Retake"

Jon has disappeared into the sun to recharge, but Clark doesn't know where he is so he sends the League around the world to find him. Jon decides he must fight to save the lives of Batman and Harley. He convinces Barry to sit the fight out, rips off Hawkgirl's wings, steals Hal's ring, and then steals Diana's lasso. Using it he helps Damian realize he doesn't want Bruce dead. Anticipating something, Clark grabs Jay and confronts Jon. He proceeds to break Jay's arm before Jon uses his suped up superspeed to hug Clark. He then plays Lois' message of farewell from our world, to Clark. This touches Clark and seems to be removing barriers until Cyborg transports Jon home.
