"Dear Super-Villains" Graphic Novel by Michael Northrop

Published by: DC Comics (April 2021)

A sequel to the excellent "Dear Justice League" from 2020, "Dear Super-Villains" by Michael Northrop with fantastic art by Gustavo Duarte is every bit of fun as it predecessor.

Once again the story is broken up into chapters that focus on one member of the Legion of Doom. However, Northrop ties each chapter together with an overarching story that brings everything together by the end of the book.

"Dear Super-Villains" finds super villains like Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro, Giganta, Black Manta, and Katana in a bit of chaos, as their leader, Lex Luthor is languishing in jail, and the villains are directionless without him. As they go about their nefarious deeds, the villains take some time out to answer emails, texts and letters from young children who are either fans, antagonists or just curious about the person they're writing to.

"Dear Super-Villains" is obviously aimed at younger readers, and like "Dear Justice League," Northrop makes it fun, with lots of humor. Gustavo Duarte's artwork compliments the story perfectly. It's light and hilarious, with little in-jokes thrown in that add to the experience.

I love the idea of these villains being involved in social media and letter writing, especially Lex, who has so much time to kill (being in prison) that he spends time answering letters from children that would normally be insignificant if he was free.

5Rating - 5 (out of 5): All in all, like the first book, "Dear Super-Villains" is definitely worth your time. Both it and "Dear Justice League" are books I would highly recommend to DC fans of all ages.
