At a fireworks demonstration, Chloe is showered with kryptonite sparks and, since her lack of ability to turn heads is on her mind, she unwitting gains the power to attract any teenage boy, including Clark.
Chloe's ability soon turns her into a heartbreaking vixen, and the subject of everyone's affection, including a friend of Lex's in for a short time. However, Clark discovers the source of this newfound power, and realizes that being around Chloe might kill him.
But what Chloe doesn't realize is that Lex's friend is becoming obsessed with her, and he'll do anything to keep her... ANYTHING.
Story - 2: Honestly, for this story to work, Chloe would have to have a lobotomy first. She suddenly discovers her self able to attract anyone, and she doesn't think for a second that it might be a meteor thing? Oh come ON.
By the same token, the artist in this story who gets an obsession with Chloe goes from sensitive to obsessive with no real warning whatsoever, and it doesn't really work.
Chloe becoming shallow just because she can suddenly have any guy she wants? Feh. Ridiculous.
And as far as uncovering the problem goes, if there's that much k-dust under the bleachers, how did Clark not get affected beforehand?
Finally, how Chloe is cured is so contrived it hurts my head just thinking about it. She cries the K out. WHAT?! You gotta be kidding me.
This novel is, unfortunately, rubbish. I have nothing good to say about it, save that Lana wasn't annoying, and Pa got to be useful.
Cover Art - 4: While the image on the cover doesn't happen in the story, it at least represents, thematically, what Chloe wants and what her ability can cause to happen.
