July 12, 2021: DC Mourns Passing of Artist Robson Rocha
The comic book world is mourning the death of artist Robson Rocha, who passed away on Sunday after a struggle with COVID-19.Having broken into the comic book industry in 2010, 41 year old Rocha, who was hospitalized in Brazil just two weeks ago, was memorialized across the internet by friends and colleagues alike.
A statement from DC Comics reads: "DC is heartbroken to hear of the passing of Robson Rocha. As tributes pour in from his friends and fans, we're reminded that he was not only an extraordinary artist, but a beloved member of the comic book community and the DC family. We will miss him dearly."

I'm heartbroken over Robson Rocha's passing. So young and with a young family. Every time we worked together it was some of my favorite experiences. He was a terrific talent with an awesome future. All of these words feel so small in describing him. I'm sorry to his family.

Robson Rocha had the incredible talent of using his art to express ideas that were trapped between script & words. We both loved horror & snuck that in our projects. In other sad news, legendary character actor, William Smith, also recently passed away. Smith voiced the role of Draaga, Superman's adversary in the animated series "Justice League" - in the episodes "War World" and "War World: Part II" - which first aired in 2002.
