J'onn J'onzz is now a being of Oan Green Lantern energy. He and John Stewart are among those fighting Darkseid. Batman has taken a Kryptonite blade in the chest to save Superman. Lobo has finished his job for the Justice League, allowing Wonder Woman to decapitate him. The Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League have joined forces to combat Darkseid. However, they may be too late. The tyrannical ruler of Apokolips has launched Boom Nukes through Boom Tubes that will send them to various points in the universe. This could turn all that exists into an intergalactic wasteland. Hal Jordan has used his Green Lantern powers to redirect the Boom Nukes directly at Darkseid, and J'onn has helped Batman heal. With ol' Stoneface defeated, Lobo can finally stand trial. Apokolips has now been recognized as New Oa, home of the Green Lantern Corps, which will be run by a council led by Hal and John. J'onn J'onzz cannot leave New Oa as he is part of its core. This does not stop him from being part of the next phase of the Justice League in which Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman discuss its future as the Justice League Universal.

"The Biggest Score Ever" - Part 1

As the Justice League Dark deals with supernatural forces the main Justice League is dealing with Oliver Queen financing both the the League and a new incarnation of Checkmate. Meanwhile, there is a group of Deathstrokes dressed like Slade Wilson. They've been attempting to kill Leonardo Lane A.K.A. Daemon Rose, Superman's brother in-law. There seems to be a larger plan in motion, one involving both Checkmate and the Justice League. How these Deathstrokes are involved, and if Slade Wilson has a part in it, is unclear. Yet, these teams of heroes will have their work cut out for them getting answers to their questions. Checkmate and the Justice League have been led to believe that the group of thieves known as the Royal Flush Gang are the masterminds behind recent events. However, this could merely be meant to be a distraction for the real culprits. There may not be time to discover the truth as Kelex has warned of an unforeseen happenstance. Superman's Fortress has been stolen.

Ace of the Royal Flush Gang provides distraction while the rest of the group enter the Kryptonian stronghold. The Justice League sets out to locate it, but when they do, it may be too late. Dimensional doors have been opened.

Jon Kent brings the Legion to meet the Justice League in oerder to get some answers. However, the Great Darkness pulls Wonder Woman and Triplicate Girl again. This time, Gold Lantern finds himself alone in the Hall of Justice.

As the Justice League Dark deals with black magic, the main League has their hands full battling whatever comes out of dimensional rifts in their efforts to clean up the Royal Flush Gang's mess. Jack, after all is said and done, reveals that they wanted to use Superman's Fortress and its technology to steal a meteor full of space minerals and ores, shrink it and regrow it as they see fit. Their plan went awry when rifts began to form throughout the planet. The Justice League take care of things as they always do. With the chaos fixed and the Fortress back to normal the Royal Flush Gang is taken into custody. Superman needs aid to return the Fortress to the Bermuda Triangle. Meanwhile Leo Lane has joined Checkmate while Black Adam promises to keep an eye on the recently thanked Green Arrow in case his power and wealth corrupt him.

OMAC has found Hawkgirl encased in gold in his dystopian future. The One Man Army Corp crashes the party to welcome the recently resurrected Wonder Woman back to the Justice League. Meanwhile temporal events are occurring everywhere. Someone known as the Lord of Time is the key to it all. Various versions of him from different chronological points have appeared to numerous League members. It is unclear if he is a hero or villain even after Hawkgirl returns from OMAC's world armed by the Lord of Time to defeat his past self. Yet, when that past self mentions the Gold Lantern, the Justice League has more questions than answers when the Lord of Time disappears.

Adam, while trying to fit into the Justice League, is visited in Kahndaq by Xanadoth, the original Lord of Chaos. Other Lords of Chaos and Order banished her when she became too power hungry. Now she wants to use Black Adam as host organism whether he is willing or not to serve her. Xanadoth takes Adam. There to reveal this unwilling alliance are Zatanna and Madame Xanadu. Meanwhile, the spirit of Nabu has left the new Doctor Fate.

To make matters worse, Madame Xanadu is missing after the main League's arrival. They'll need every powerful hero at their disposal if they can defeat Xanadoth. The Justice League has confronted Nabu after he left this plane of existence and the Helmet of Fate. He has taken Naomi into a white void. Meanwhile, Xanadoth Adam has taken Madame Xanadu to see the future. Is Naomi connected somehow? Is it the same future Prince saw in the opening track of the Batman soundtrack?

John Constantine makes some valid points about chaos needing order to balance things out. Naomi learns her powers can amplify magic. She aids Black Adam in settling his score with the Lord of Chaos who possessed him. All that is left is the rubble of his castle in Kahndaq afterwards. The Justice League aids Adam in rebuilding his home, his country and his life with Xanadoth defeated. Yet, with one threat gone, a dark crisis looms...

One group is in Kamandi's dystopian world, another meets Terry McGuinness the future Batman, and Ultra Boy and Aquaman must battle dinosaurs in a prehistoric era. To make matters worse, the science police are about to arrest Batman in the 31st Century while Gold Lantern has lost contact with the Guardians of the Universe while the Daily Planet building either appears or is about to be consumed by the Great Darkness.

Jackson Hyde and Hal Jordan protect Atlantis from the alien Viro. Centrifuge separates it from parasites, allowing the being to be free and leave Atlantis and Sector 2814 in peace. Jackson takes his place as the seas' protector while Hal investigates what happened to the Justice League.

"The Pariah"

Pariah, not wanting to repeat his errors from "Crisis on Infinite Earths," decides to suicide to save the multiverse. This does not work for him as he is face to face with the Great Darkness.

"Who Are The Justice League?"

In the aftermath of the previously reviewed main story, children on a tour of the Hall of Justice wonder if, when and how the Justice League will return. Their guide, after telling them the team's history, reveals herself to be Clayface. He must steal Darkseid's Mother Box from the hall's museum for an unrevealed villain. Some kids take the device to prevent Clayface from having it. This puts them in grave danger. However, Wally West, the current Flash, rescues them. His speed heats up Clayface, drying him and turning him into a statue. The Flash then answers the youths' inquiries by saying it isn't important if, when or how the Justice League will come back. Who will be a part of it will be what matters the most.

Plans are made to search for the time traveler Epoch when Triplicate Girl, whose aged self merged with her younger "sisters", mentions the immortal tyrant Vandal Savage. As the Great Darkness engulfs the Legion of Super-Heroes and the Justice League, Savage reveals it is he who is using the Great Darkness to obliterate the Age of Heroes throughout time and space.

We now go to the Old West. Vandal Savage, in typical villain fashion, explains to an imprisoned Batman his use of the Great Darkness to erase the Age of Heroes from existence. However, he later learns that the revelation of his plans was actually a confession. The Guardians of the Universe sentence Savage to non-existence. Vandal reacts by attacking with a ring full of Great Darkness energy, only to be defeated and erased by Kala Lour, the Gold Lantern. The Guardians assign Kala to search the universe for others to be part of a Gold Lantern Corps. However as the Gold Lantern, the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes celebrate victory, Vandal Savage is found and rescued by Jonah Hex. Vandal Savage is sure to return.

Introduction

The Justice League comic book brings together DC Universe heroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and Cyborg, amongst others.
